The Nemean Lion (Heracles' First Labor)

As the first of his Twelve Labors, the hero Heracles was tasked by King Eurystheus to slay the Nemean Lion, a vicious beast terrorizing the region of Nemea. The lion's golden fur was impervious to mortal weapons; Heracles' arrows simply bounced off its hide. Realizing his weapons were useless, Heracles cornered the beast in its dark cave.

Relying on his immense, god-given strength, he wrestled the lion with his bare hands and strangled it. He then used the lion's own razor-sharp claws to skin it, wearing its pelt as an indestructible armor for the rest of his adventures.
