Myths featuring Mestet

After the murder of Osiris, Isis hides her infant son Horus in the marshes of Chemmis to protect him from the wrath of his uncle Set. Following the murder of Osiris by his brother Seth, the goddess Isis fled to the secluded papyrus marshes of the Nile Delta to protect her unborn son. In the hidden island of Chemmis, she used her magic and the protection of seven scorpions to keep Horus safe from the usurper's wrath.
