The legendary confrontation between the Brahmin warrior Parashurama and the mighty Haihaya King Kartavirya Arjuna. Driven by the king's theft of the sacred cow Kamadhenu and the subsequent slaughter of the sage Jamadagni, Parashurama uses his divine axe to defeat the thousand-armed monarch and initiate a purge of the warrior class.
